7 peachy producers!

The Roussanne peach is a very old fruit, grown in the Jurançon vineyards since the 16th century. The fragility of the fruit and the vagaries of time almost caused its demise.

In 2004, a group of passionate growers formed a cooperative called ‘Les Vergers du Pays de Monein’ to revive production.

Today, the cooperative brings together 7 producers covering some fifteen hectares of orchards in and around Monein. These producers are committed to following good growing practices in order to respect the environment and optimise the organoleptic qualities of the peaches.

The cooperative is open to the public in July and August. Freshly harvested peaches from the orchards are available for sale on the shelves.

Peach nectar, peach syrup, peach aurillons, peach compote, peach jam, fruit jellies, sweets... Roussanne peaches can be enjoyed in a variety of forms all year round.

You'll find these products at the ‘Les Vergers du Pays de Monein’ cooperative in summer, and all year round at the Tourist Office.
