The Gave de Pau

The Gave de Pau has an exceptional wealth of fish life, with migratory fish such as salmon, eels, lampreys, sea trout and shad all making their way upstream !

The Gave de Pau, from Lescar to Orthez, is unique in that it has all the characteristics of a river. Wild and impetuous in its zones of riffles and large riffles and weirs, it has the profile of a first-category Pyrenean river. At Orthez, when the Gave enters its deep rocky gorge, its current calms down to flood the abyssal pools, giving it the profile of a second-category river.

The rivers and streams of the Baïses and Aubin also offer a variety of courses to tease the fario trout, rainbow trout, eel, gudgeon and crayfish.

Salles Mongiscard, boat and float-tube fishing

A launch has been set up for boats and float-tubes on the Gave, with several kilometres of normally inaccessible banks now open to exploration by anglers.

Orthez, the fishing stadium

This course is just over a kilometre long and can host local, departmental and even national competitions. It's the place to be for carnivore, jig and carp anglers, as well as boat anglers.

Lakes

Lovers of stillwater fishing are spoilt for choice when it comes to reeling in their reels.
This abundant aquatic heritage is a delight for both pike and predator anglers. Perch, pike-perch, pike and black-bass are the fearsome guests of these waters, which they jealously share with carp, tench, roach and many other cyprinids.

Lac du Làa in Vielleségure is a 23-hectare reservoir where trout and carnivorous fish live side by side! Classified in 1st category and thanks to a development programme, it is stocked with rainbow trout, brown trout and gudgeon. The Lac des Barthes de Biron, a real fishing centre for everyone! Access for people with reduced mobility.

Lac Lahittete is a 6-hectare lake in the 2nd category, located a hundred metres from the Barthes lakes, and is a ‘Carpe Trophée’ fishing spot.

Lac de l'Aubin at Doazon is made up of 2 reservoirs: a 10-hectare ‘pre-lake’ and a large 30-hectare lake where carnivorous fish and white fish live side by side. The pre-lake offers a perfect profile for introductory fishing. The large lake has the typical characteristics of a hill reservoir
Populated by a large number of species, the Aubin or Doazon site is ideal for practising a variety of techniques (predator, long pole and spear fishing).
