Robert Bordenave Montesquieu
MONEINThis fruit farm is in Monein, a Béarnaise village in the heart of the Jurançon AOC region, and which is well known for its famous church of St. Girons. The farm is on the road to Cardesse. The orchard contains 600 Roussanne peach trees. The owner, Robert, grows two varieties, the Campanulée - an early variety and the Rosacée - which matures later. He farms sustainably, using no pesticides, fertilisers or weed killers. His aim is to produce fruit which is good for your taste buds and your health. The fruit is ready to be picked from mid July to mid August but visitors can enjoy the taste year round in products such as jams, sweets, candied fruit, syrups and juices.
