The Orthez-Biron Leisure Centre is to be found in a truly wonderful environment, on 100 ha of countryside, around a lake of 40 ha bordered by a sandy beach.

This relaxing setting is enhanced by a play area and other activities to make your day full of excitement.

The playground gives your children a fun place to wait for their swim. There's plenty of adventure for young and old (aged 3 to 9) and for everyone with the PRM swing. When it comes to picnics, everything is provided! There are tables next to the play areas, so all you have to do is prepare a packed lunch using local produce. And while the children are hurtling down the zip line or having fun on the large rope pyramid, how about a little siesta in the shade?

Alongside the 2 petanque courts, the brand-new multi-sports ground allows young and old alike to play football and basketball in complete safety. For those who like to relax and read, there are deckchairs next to the play areas, along with water fountains and even a book box in an old telephone box! In summer, young and old alike can try their hand at archery.

Sports enthusiasts can set off for a jog around the lake on the path, which can also be explored by bike, and finish off with a fitness session using the numerous pieces of equipment available free of charge in the shady park.

The 3.6km walk around the lake is punctuated by 3 bird-watching stations, including one on the Saligue aux oiseaux marsh, which is suitable for wheelchair users.

Fishing is permitted (fishing permit required) and there is a PRM fishing area.

Gentle water, fun to play in

For a refreshing swim in freshwater, head for the supervised beach.

Here, too, there are plenty of activities for all the family to enjoy! Pedalos, paddle boats, canoeing... take advantage of the many water sports available.

Fancy an ice cream by the water? Take a break on the sand at the snack bar and fast food outlets!

If you still have some energy left after a busy day, enjoy a stroll around the lake on the shady footpath.

Admission to the park is free all year round. The leisure centre is open early in the morning, from sunrise.

Swimming is supervised from 5 July to 31 August 2024 every day from 11am to 7pm.
