How about a trip to another world? Between Pau and Lourdes, Asson Zoo welcomes you for a most unexpected visit. Animals from all over the world live in peace amidst exuberant vegetation. Eucalyptus, bamboo and palm trees (the largest palm grove in the south-west of France), as well as pagodas and sculptures, are all part of this absolutely exotic experience.
Discover Radjah, the white tiger from Asia, as well as snow leopards, little pandas and an ocelot, a real favourite of the owner, who met this magnificent species in the heart of the Guatemalan rainforest among the Mayan ruins. As you can see, this zoo is a story of the heart. The aim is to facilitate encounters between humans and animals through immersive spaces. You can get up close and personal with certain animals (the ones that don't bite, of course!): tropical birds, lemurs and dozens of squirrels...
2-metre kangaroos !
Asson Zoo invites you into the Australian Outback in the company of red kangaroos weighing 90 kg and measuring up to 2 metres! An encounter you won't forget! Asson Zoo also breeds monkeys and lemurs, with a total of around twenty species from Amazonia, Indonesia and Madagascar: 130g pygmy marmosets and other gibbons (from the great ape family) live in the shade of tropical plants that thrive in the Béarn climate. Steppe zebras, savannah servals, brown mongooses and rainforest antelopes complete this journey to the four corners of the globe.
Among the birds
This music, which evokes the end of the world, exoticism and light, is the song of tropical birds! The aviary invites you to experience the daydream of a forest filled with multicoloured birds. They fly peacefully overhead while the flamingos preen their pink feathers and the owls watch you like wise old men.
