Follow the Béarn Pays Basque Historic Route and discover almost 1,000 years of history, from the 12th to the 20th century. It's a real journey through time to discover 27 public or private monuments, all of which are listed or registered as Historic Monuments.

They are all part of this historic route and illustrate the richness of Béarn's heritage:- The town of Orthez: Right in the town centre, the Château Moncade offers a panoramic view of the former capital of Béarn. Nearby, the Musée Jeanne d'Albret traces 4 centuries of history in Béarn.
- St Girons church in Monein: The largest Gothic-style church in Béarn (15th-16th century). It features a roof structure that is unique in France, in the shape of the double hull of an overturned ship.
- La Commanderie de Lacommande: A 12th-century hospital complex on the Arles route of the Pilgrim's Way to Santiago de Compostela. The church of St Blaise is a jewel of Romanesque art, and the old cemetery is home to 17th-century discoidal stelae.
