From celebrations to festivals

From Orthez to Monein, from village to village and in all seasons, music, traditions and local produce are on offer in a region where people love to go out and celebrate.

Local festivals: an institution

In a country where life is celebrated, every village has its own festival. It's a chance to share good times with friends and family and to keep traditions alive.

On the penultimate weekend in July, the Fêtes d'Orthez is the place to be for the region's ‘festayres’, with music in the streets and bars, bandas, landes race and bullfighting on the programme - party dress required!

At the beginning of August, it's Monein's turn to put on its festive colours for 4 days of entertainment in the town.

The Jurançon festival

Jurançon is in the spotlight with the famous Jurançon tasting at the Monein festivals in August. After the harvest, the winegrowers of the Jurançon Wine Route open their cellars at the beginning of December and invite the public to share convivial moments around cultural breaks accompanied, of course, by tastings of dry or sweet wines and other local produce. Don't miss: the Jurançon Open Days.
