Taking to the small byways on foot, bicycle or car is another way of discovering the Cœur de Béarn. The countryside unveils itself slowly as you move along whether through small woods or great forests.
The Chemin des Crêtes from Lagor to Maslacq offers an endless landscape of hills and valleys. Trees, fields, the Pyrénées as backdrop... In these wild landscapes it is not rare to find deer. You see them, tentative in the morning mist enveloping the hills and sometimes even in the full of the day.
Between Monein and Lacommande are be found the Jurançon vines. On this route, small parcels of vines flank the hills and merge with the forests. Pause awhile before the Pyrénées; whilst making the most of an interrupted view over the village of Monein and the Church of St Girons.
From Puyoo to Baigts-de-Béarn the road follows the crests of the hills. On one side the Béarnais countryside and far away, the mountains and on the other side, views over the Chalosse with les Landes at your feet !
