Autumn is the time for grape harvesting and ever more often Indian summers.
Up until the end of October days are fine.
A warming wind from the south known as "foehn" comes to give the grapes their golden glow and nature adopts autumnal tints.
It's a time for picking chestnuts and eating them with a drop of Bourret, the first of the pressed grapes.
It's also the season for mushrooms to be picked on forest walks.
