Tourist tax
What is the tourist tax?
All visitors over the age of 18 staying for one or more nights in the Coeur de Béarn must pay tourist tax.
This helps to improve the quality of your welcome, make your stay more enjoyable and contribute to the development of tourism in the Coeur de Béarn. It is a contribution collected by your accommodation provider on behalf of the Communauté de Communes de Lacq-Orthez, which is used for local development and planning initiatives such as heritage enhancement, events, etc.
What are the terms and conditions ?
In a decision dated 28/09/2020, the Lacq-Orthez Community of Communes introduced a real tourist tax from 1 January to 31 December. The price of this tax must be clearly shown on your bill in addition to the price of your accommodation.
Who is exempt ?
- Minors (under 18)
- Holders of seasonal employment contracts employed in the municipality
- Persons in emergency accommodation or temporarily rehoused
- Persons occupying premises where the rent is less than an amount set by a resolution of the governing body, if one has been passed.
How much does it cost?
Prices are per night and per person and vary according to the type of accommodation and comfort.
